This painting was a favourite subject of Terry's, lovely autumn foliage, glorious light, featuring a track, leading towards a rolling landscape. Lots of lovely detailed grasses in the foreground, including lovely shadows crossing the track.
It has all of the elements he loved painting. The colours in this painting are rich and sumptuous, with a depth that the photo is unable to capture fully.
