Hi from me, Martin at Terry Harrison Art, I hope this newsletter finds you well.
A couple of weeks ago Jane (my wife) and I had a week away on Arran, an island off the West coast of Scotland.

Arran is a wonderful island with a mountainous northern area and flatter southern half.
It has everything you would expect from a Scottish island - a decent sized hill to climb in the form of Goatfell at 874m:

Some beautiful inlets and harbours - here is Lochranza

and here is Brodick Bay

It would not be a Scottish Island without a castle or two - these are the ruins of Lochranza castle:

and here is the magnificent Brodick castle:

which is now run by Scottish Heritage and open to the public to tour. It sits within some beautiful gardens, however I neglected to take many pictures as I was mainly focussed on getting to the Red Squirrel Hide that they had:

These are endangered and have a protected colony on Arran where the Greys have not managed to get to yet, so it was wonderful to be able to watch these guys snack away.
If you ever get a chance to visit I can recommend as there is plenty to see and do along with some really good places to eat!
That's it from me this week - if you want to see more pictures of Arran you can check outlay blog on my own website including images from the top of Goatfell and some Drone footage of the landscape
Happy Painting
Martin
