Hi from me, Martin at Terry Harrison Art, I hope this newsletter finds you well.
Welcome to May and here in the UK it is a wonderful time of year. Every year I always forget how late in the year spring really is. For some reason I manage to delude myself in those winter months that Spring is just round the corner and we will see bussing in March.
In reality is the end of April and may when we really see the colour appearing and here on the North East it's finally bluebell season!

As a budding photographer I am bombarded with amazing images of sunrise and sunset scenes of bluebells carpeting the forest floor, washing around tree trunks and generally looking amazing.
It looks as simple as just going out to a wooded area and bagging the shot, so imagine my surprise when I found that not to be the case!
There are a number of woods around my area, but they are all flowering at different times. In some the bluebells are past, in others they have not even started yet. Add to that the fact that most of the woodlands are rather messy (those pesky trees getting in the way) and it proves to be much more challenging!
I had a little foray this week and found a couple of potential spots so there are some images below - but the process has made me really appreciate how close Terrys colour Bluebell is to the actual thing.
Terry spend a long time perfecting this as bluebells where such a presence in a lot of his woodland scenes

"Sunlit Glade"
An original Terry Harrison using acrylic on Canvas, still for sale on the website (10 x 12 inches)
You can see when comparing the images of his paintings and the photos below how well he matched those colours!

I will continue my hunt in the next couple of weeks. Jane and I recently returned from a trip to the wonderful Island of Arran off the coast of Scotland so I will have some images to share from that next week.
In the meantime - happy painting!
Martin
