Terry loved coming across a view such as this which formed the basis of many a painting. The addition of the chickens on the road suggests that it is a road seldom used.
His loose drawing can be seen placing the road and the barn which adds a special interest to this piece.
The trees on the right shed beautiful dappled shadows across the road, linking the two sides of the painting. The chickens becoming the natural focal point against the distant view in the background. A brilliant composition!
