A Chilly Start 13 x 15 inches watercolour on paper

This is such a warm scene, despite the snow. 
The glorious colours in the sky and distant foliage are also used in the barn and house, and a warm light is reflected onto the foreground snow.
Notice the slip of snow on the roof, in fact its such a lovely morning that the chickens have escaped to bask in the sunshine!
