Swifts Barn 10.5 x 17.5 inches watercolour on paper

Terry lived in this building for two years, he loved the idyllic rural setting  There were days when horses came past, but other than that, just the birds and an occasional fox. It is called 'Swifts Barn' because each year the Swifts return to nest in the open barn on the left of the painting, Terry would watch them swooping in and under the rafters.

This is a beautifully detailed painting, painted for pleasure.
Lovely distant hills and fields in a blue haze contrasting with the warmth of the Cotswold stone buildings.
The foreground is very detailed, lots of grasses all masked out prior to painting, making this a very special painting to own.
